Eric Somerville

Partner & Chief Operating Officer

Eric Somerville

Mr. Eric Somerville brings over two decades of leadership spanning operations, social impact, health and wellbeing, and organizational growth across both private and nonprofit sectors. His career reflects a deep commitment to empowering families, seniors, and youth while strengthening communities through partnership, innovation, and measurable outcomes.

As Partner and Chief Operating Officer at HallKeen, he will be integrating mission-driven leadership with operational excellence—aligning business performance and social impact to expand affordable and mixed-income housing. His focus is on scalable growth, sustainable community development, and long-term stakeholder value.

Also serving as COO at Douglass Park Asset Management, he plays a pivotal role in supporting the firm’s next chapter of growth, which included the acquisition and future operation of HallKeen. As a result of serving as CEO of Venture for America while the organization navigated COVID, and a return to in-person programming across 13 cities, he looks at housing as more than the four walls, but central hubs to connect people to resources so they can thrive.

Mr. Somerville spent a decade with the Y of Central Maryland, most notably as Vice President of Corporate and Civic Engagement, developing and managing high-impact initiatives across 100+ program sites, to enhance brand visibility and drive community value. Other roles within the Y included oversight of regional operations in Baltimore City, based at Stadium Place, a historic 30-acre site of the former Memorial Stadium, a national exemplar intergenerational community anchored by health and wellness resources, commercial space, and housing and supportive services for senior adults across diverse income levels.

Mr. Somerville’s earlier career includes leadership and client experience roles with global hospitality brands such as Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, The Ritz-Carlton Residences Baltimore, and Chiva-Som International Health Resort in Thailand—experiences that honed his focus on service excellence, organizational culture, and stakeholder engagement.

He holds a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.A. in Transformational Leadership and Social Change from the Maryland University of Integrative Health. He serves on the Boards of Business Volunteers Maryland and the Samaritan Community in Baltimore, continuing his lifelong commitment to civic service and community well-being.
