Sumner Hill House sits atop Sumner Hill on a ridge overlooking Stony Brook Valley. Formerly known as the Jamaica Plain High School, the building itself has long been considered a neighborhood landmark. This handsome tudoresque building is historically significant as one of the first fire-proof school buildings in the City of Boston. The school was closed in 1979.
The Sumner Hill House has been transformed into one, two, and three bedroom apartments in a variety of layouts which meet modern standards while preserving the building's historic character.
The Sumner Hill area combines the best of urban and suburban living. Easy access in and out of Boston is easily achievable by car, train or bus. Centre Street provides an active commercial area with retail shops and restaurants, and the recreational amenities of Jamaica Pond are a short walk away.
Community amenities include: landscaped grounds and parking, laundry facilities, community room, elevators, central air conditioning, ceramic tiled baths, 24 hour emergency service, on-site management.
