Holiday Traditions Continue at Heywood Wakefield Commons

Wednesday, December 12, 2018

During the week of November 26 – 30, staff, residents and volunteers at Heywood Wakefield Commons turned their community into a winter wonderland!

Several residents came out for the “picture wrapping” activity on Monday, at which the pictures hanging on the walls throughout the common areas were wrapped to look like holiday gifts. Then on Wednesday, the tradition of decorating our Lounge Christmas tree continued.

Ornaments the residents had created back in July now grace that tree. The decorating was completed just in time for our annual Holiday Open House on Saturday December 1st. This event gave residents and staff and our families an opportunity to get to know one another as we enjoyed fabulous food from our kitchen and entertainment by Honky Tonk pianist, Gary Landgren. What a great start to the holiday season!

Woods at Wareham Holiday Party

Wednesday, December 05, 2018

On Saturday, December 1st, the Resident Service Coordinator at Woods at Wareham, Shakeila Perez along with members from Church in the Pines of Wareham collaborated on throwing a holiday party for the children at the property. At the party, children decorated ginger bread houses made out of gram crackers and white frosting and decorated their houses with a variety of candies.

Additionally, residents made their very own holiday ornament to take home with them. Both parents and children of all ages attended the event. It was fun for all and residents can't wait for next year's holiday party!!!

Thanksgiving at HallKeen

Wednesday, November 28, 2018

Our HallKeen properties always have such a wonderful time celebrating the holidays, especially thanksgiving!

110 Peterborough Street hosted their annual Thanksgiving Luncheon last week.

Residents were able to sit together and socialize over lots of food and music.

The Saturday before thanksgiving several Neptune Towers residents, along with over 950 other local families received free turkeys and all the fixings for Thanksgiving Dinners.

Many people volunteered their time to help pass the turkeys out, including Neptune Towers employees Margie Cronin and Miranda Wilson, along with, State Representative Dan Cahill, State Representative Pete Capano, and Lee Alston.

It was a very humbling experience for all of our staff and volunteers.

Maintenance Mania 2018

Wednesday, November 14, 2018

On Thursday November 8th, we went to the Lantana in Randolph, to cheer on some of our HallKeen Hero’s in this year’s Maintenance Mania event.

Maintenance Mania is a national program where NAA affiliated maintenance technicians compete against each other in several skill-based table games based on common maintenance activities and ends with a race car competition.

Participants build their race cars prior to the event, aiming to have the fastest and most creative car built out of maintenance supplies.

All games are timed to determine the fastest competitor in each game and overall. It was really cool to watch and a fun event enjoyed by all!

HallKeen Halloween Festivities

Monday, November 05, 2018

We had so many Halloween photos submissions from our properties this year, that it was hard to choose which party to blog about! Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves this Halloween dressing up in costume, enjoying tasty treats, and getting involved in their communities’ events. Here are some photos from Ames Privilege, Bayview, Woods at Wareham, and Courts of Camp Springs! We even have a photo of two of our friends from compliance Daria Pajak, and Tova Rea decked out in their Halloween Gear.

Thank you all for your submissions! We look forward to seeing what else you have planned for the rest of the holiday season and to ring in the new year!

In the spirit of Halloween, last Friday the Brigham House held their Annual Halloween Happening!

This event, once again brought together generations to celebrate the traditions of the fall.

Families of preschoolers joined with the residents of Brigham House Assisted Living Community dressed in their costumes, to sing and dance to the music of the popular children's band, Debbie and Friends.

After the concert children could make a craft and Trick or Treat with the residents.

Halloween Prep at Heywood Wakefield Commons

Wednesday, October 10, 2018

October is “spooktacularly” busy at Heywood Wakefield Commons with preparations in full swing for their 7th annual Holiday Bazaar, 1st annual Variety Show and, of course, Halloween festivities. These residents recently decorated bags that will be filled with candy that the residents will hand out to trick-or-treaters from a local private school. The annual trick-or-treat visit from the kindergarten and pre-k classes at the Holy Family school here in Gardner, MA is a favorite resident event.
